Poor diets are responsible for more of the global burden disease than sex, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco combined. Without good health, food security, nutrition, development is unsustainable. How grown, distributed, processed, marketed, sold determines which foods available, affordable, acceptable within local cultural context. These factors guide choices, influencing quality people’s diets, hence they play a vital part in health. The system complex neither nutrition nor health driven. Good human not seen as important supply chain outcomes, diminishing between different processes actors chain. This contrast to environmental labour concerns now also perceived issues. Although loss waste appreciated key sustainable chains, critical role on security remains obscure. In free market dispensation, trade-offs agricultural production income generation versus nutrient delivery from farm fork needs be addressed. Investment incentivised initiatives needed foster diverse production, preservation, distribution influence consumers’ behaviour consumption. decisions made at any stage have implications consumer dietary patterns, nutritional outcomes. Leveraging entire an underused policy response growing problem unhealthy diets.
